Ozi F Teddy’s rise to fame in Botswana has been nothing short of
phenomenal. This young Hip-Hop prodigy has taken the country by storm with his
lyrical skills showcased on mix-tapes and with his one-of-a-kind live
performances on numerous shows. The artist is hugely popular with high-school
kids whom he interacts with often through the social media, Facebook and
Twitter, as well as in person at their schools.
Ozi F Teddy released an album, entitled “While I’m Here”, on the 11th
November 2011 (popularly known as 11-11-11). The album features hit singles
such as Always (Which was number one on the YARONA FM mascom top 20 chart for 3
weeks in a row) and One Day which have received a lot of radio airtime on
Yarona FM as well as rave reviews from an ever-growing fan-base.
The
dream chasers project/tour is an initiative by one of Botswana’s promising
young talent- Ted ‘Ozi F Teddy’ Phaphane. This project involves the artist as
an influential public figure to children and adolescents, touring various
junior and high schools motivating and advising students on wise and safe ways
to pursue dreams and aspirations. Ozi F Teddy will also be touching on topics
about positive living as well as the theme of the week at the schools he will
be visiting. The Idea is to act as a positive role model to students for them
to make the right choices in the long run upon completing their accademics. On
top of that other main stream local artists will accompany him as supporting
acts on this tour to also offer assistance to this cause.
